Representing non-UK nationals via interpreters in complex Child Arrangements Orders applications.

Acting for: Applicant Father
Court: Canterbury Family Court

Outcome:

John’s client was convicted of assaulting his ex-partner’s husband in front of the child.  After many applications to court and several CAFCASS and Local Authority reports, all recommendations were against there being any kind of contact.  However, it was possible to persuade the court that contact would be in the child’s interest, and Child Arrangements Orders in the father’s father were made.

INTERESTING POINTS – All proceedings were carried out with the use of interpreters, despite the court having failed on most occasions to provide a court appointed interpreter.
